Little Manto sits on the boat, looking forward to diving into the sea and going down to the ancient shipwreck of Peristera, near Alonissos. Unfortunately, her father and the other divers of the mission tell her she’s not old enough yet. They may talk to her about the shipwreck and the National Marine Park of Alonissos, but for now her place is on the boat. At best, she will get to see Artemis, the Mediterranean monk seal that frequents the area and keeps them company during their diving.
Manto will not only meet Artemis, but she will also experience a fantastic adventure in the ancient shipwreck with her. And back on the boat, she feels ready to take part in some proper scuba diving. Provided she’ll be old enough, of course!
The book contains an appendix with some facts about the Peristera shipwreck and the first underwater museum of Greece, additional information about underwater excavations and diving gear, as well as a list of the most important shipwrecks found in Greek waters.
